Zoar Methodist Church

Worship     
Worship takes place every Sunday at 10.45am and 6.00pm. (4.00pm from Nov. - Feb) All are welcome. As well as our own ministers and preachers we welcome preachers from other churches so there is lots of variety. Worship includes both contemporary and traditional styles. Most importantly, we seek to glorify God and to worship him in spirit and in truth.

Prayer
We have two prayer meetings each week. Saturday mornings from 8am - 9am and Tuesday evenings from 7.15pm - 8.00pm. We welcome anyone to join us to pray for the needs of the world and the community. Oasis
Every Monday from 2.00pm - 4.00pm
If you're out and about in the village on a Monday afternoon you are welcome to call in for a drink and piece of cake. Oasis provides a meeting place for adults and children. Some small toys are available for children to play with.

Children     
There are activities in place for children on a Sunday morning as well as during the week. During worship the whole church family meets together for the first part (about 20 minutes) then the children are invited to attend 'Junior Church' for age specific activities while the adults continue to meet together. We also have a creche for the younger ones. Parent/carers can choose whether to stay with their children or leave them in the capable hands of folks from the church. For your peace of mind all workers with children have been CRB checked.

Welcome
We are mindful that coming to a new church can be a big step. We would want you to feel as comfortable as possible and so we will make every effort to make you feel at ease. Please introduce yourself to the preacher or one of the stewards (they will be wearing a badge!) God bless.

Activities for Children and Youth

Playgroup (ages 2-4)

Meets Monday to Thursday from 9.15am - 11.45pm for children aged from 2-4. Structured and free play - includes refreshments. Contact Shelia (01384 833234)

Junior Church (all ages)

Meets on Sundays from 10.45am - 12.00pm for children of all ages. Bible based songs and activites. Contact Linda (01384 230965)

Brownies (ages 7-10)

Meets on Wednesdays from 6.30pm - 8.00pm for girls aged 7-10 Activities include games, crafts and badgework. Contact Libby (01384 234839)

Carers & Toddlers (ages 0-4)

Meets on Fridays from 9.30am - 11.30am. For carers and pre-school children. Activites include free play, songs and refreshments. Contact Liz (01902 679353)

Gornal Youth Project (ages 11-18)

Meets on Fridays from 7.30pm - 9.30pm. For young people aged 11-18. Activites include snooker, pool, table tennis, computer games, refreshments etc. Contact Wendy (01384 824498)

Bible Study & Fellowship Groups (all ages)

There are a number of groups that meet during the week:

Thursday evenings - 7.30pm - 8.30pm (Thursday Fellowship)
Tuesday afternoons - 2.30pm - 3.30pm (Ladies Fellowship)
Wednesday afternoons (last Wednesday in month) - 2.00pm - 3.00pm
Wednesday evenings 8.00pm - 9.30pm - this is a joint group which meets at Himley Road Methodist Church
Friday evenings 8.00pm - 9.30pm (monthly Home Group) venue can vary from month to month
